Baku mayor: Seaside promenade to be extended to 25 kilometers

The length of Baku's seaside promenade has been increased from 3 kilometers to 17 kilometers in recent years.

Report informs that Baku City Executive Authority Head Eldar Azizov said this at a roundtable titled "Strengthening Local Action: Reinforcing Multilevel Governance for Adequate Housing and Resilient Communities," held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

He said the promenade is planned to be extended to 25 kilometers in the future:

"Baku is currently one of the safest and most dynamically developing cities in the world. As a result of President Ilham Aliyev's policy, the capital has become a hub for numerous international events. Modern tourism infrastructure has been formed in the city. While only 22 hotels operated in Baku in 2003, their number has now increased 12-fold."
