Bahar Muradova calls for children's needs to be considered in urban planning

Azerbaijan has called for the needs and everyday experiences of children to be systematically integrated into urban planning processes.

Report informs that Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, made the proposal during a panel discussion held as part of WUF13 in Baku.

According to her, in the modern world, the concept of home is much broader than just a physical living space.

"For children, home is a healthy environment for development, access to education and care services, and opportunities for play and socialization. Another important meaning of home is family - the first social environment where a child feels heard, protected and valued," Muradova said.

She emphasized that these priorities must therefore be taken into account when planning adequate housing and the urban environment.
