An appeal was made to public organizations of Azerbaijan to issue a statement of protest to the Russian side in connection with cyber attacks on Azerbaijani media outlets, a member of the board of the Press Council, chairman of the Trade Union of Journalists Mushvig Alasgarli said, speaking during public discussions on the topic of "Cyber attacks on media outlets of Azerbaijan", held by the temporary parliamentary commission on countering external interference and hybrid threats, Report informs.
He noted that cyber attacks on some media outlets of Azerbaijan came from Russia.
"During the Patriotic War and anti-terrorist operations, a number of Azerbaijani websites in this country (in Russia) were blocked. These were websites distributing information mainly in Russian. I believe that in connection with the attacks on February 20, a statement of protest should be issued to the Russian side at least at the level of public organizations," Alasgarli added.
