Azerbaijan to prepare proposals to join ILO conventions

Azerbaijan will prepare proposals to join several conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), according to the Action Plan for 2026-2030 on the Implementation of the Employment Strategy, approved by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The document notes that the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population will prepare proposals between 2027 and 2030 regarding Azerbaijan's accession to ILO Conventions No. 184, 190, and 191.

ILO Convention No. 184 (2001) concerns safety and health in agriculture. The convention establishes minimum international standards for protecting the safety and health of workers employed in the agricultural sector.

ILO Convention No. 190 (2019) addresses violence and harassment in the world of work. It is the first international treaty dedicated to preventing violence and harassment in employment relations, including gender-based violence.

ILO Convention No. 191 (2023) concerns a safe and healthy working environment. The document introduces technical amendments to several previous conventions related to the inclusion of a safe and healthy working environment within the ILO's fundamental principles and rights at work framework.
