Azerbaijan pledges safe, dignified return for displaced communities

Azerbaijan is determined to ensure the safe and dignified return of displaced communities as part of the Great Return process, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov said on X, Report informs.

He said that more than 40,000 former internally displaced persons have returned to their homes so far, while more than 45 settlements have been reconstructed and restored.

"Around 100,000 people are now living, working and studying in Garabagh," Mammadov said.

He noted that the scale of progress achieved in just six years is significant, but stressed that major challenges remain.

"Landmines continue to threaten lives and obstruct reconstruction, with another civilian injured in a mine incident just last week," the deputy minister said.

"Azerbaijan remains determined to overcome these obstacles and ensure the safe and dignified Great Return of displaced communities," Mammadov said.
