Moldovan choreographer deeply impressed by Azerbaijani hospitality, Baku's beauty

The hospitality of Azerbaijan, picturesque Gabala, and the stunning beauty of Baku captivated the Moldovan artists who participated in the 15th Gabala International Music Festival, Report informs referring to the local portal Noi.

Iurie Bivol, chief choreographer of the Moldovan folk song and dance ensemble "Fluieras," has shared his impressions of the trip.

According to him, the "Fluieras" ensemble, which had already performed at this cultural event in 2012, enthusiastically accepted this year's invitation.

"We presented three choreographic pieces-dances from different regions of Moldova. <...> While the audience was somewhat reserved at first, by the end of our performance they visibly perked up, applauded wildly, and even joined our dancers, who performed a Moldovan hora in front of the stage. It was an incredible exchange of energy," Bivol said.

According to Iurie Bivol, the festival was memorable not only for the vibrant performances but also for the special atmosphere and picturesque nature of Gabala. After the event, the Moldovan artists were given the opportunity to spend another day in Azerbaijan and take a tour of Baku.

"It's an impressive, clean city, beautiful both during the day and at night, when it lights up and the landscapes become truly magical. It also has impressive architecture. All of us, the dancers and I, were deeply impressed by what we saw, as well as the attention and care we received," he said.

Bivol also praised the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people and said the organizers had created all the necessary conditions for the successful performance of the Moldovan artists.

After returning from the festival, the troupe was invited to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Chisinau. Azerbaijani Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev congratulated the artists and praised their contribution to the popularization of national culture.

The 15th Gabala International Music Festival was held from July 29 to August 3 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Baku Academy of Music, and the Gilan company.
