The first private screening of the documentary "Deadly Legacy," commissioned by the Karabakh Revival Fund (KRF), has been held in Baku, Report informs.

The presentation was attended by Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev, Presidential Representative on Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün, KRF Chairman Rahman Hajiyev, ANAMA Chairman Vugar Suleymanov, members of the Milli Majlis, representatives of international organizations, the Fund's donors and partners, as well as members of the public and media.

The documentary highlights President Ilham Aliyev's international efforts to end the global mine threat and to have the humanitarian demining initiative included as the UN's 18th Sustainable Development Goal. It also presents facts about the scale of the mine problem in Azerbaijan's liberated territories and its consequences.

Filming took place in Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia and Laos. The documentary was produced using interviews with local and international experts and officials, as well as the stories of people affected by mines.

Guests at the presentation were also given copies of the book "Revival of Karabakh: The Story of Azerbaijan's Renaissance," commissioned by the Karabakh Revival Fund.

The 500-page book, published earlier and written by British author Graeme Wilson, covers the period from the conflict to the current reconstruction process. It presents the story of Karabakh's revival through analytical material, extensive photography and interactive digital content.
