UNESCO representative says cultural sector workers are mainly based in cities

The cultural sector accounts for 3.55 percent of global employment, the majority of which is based on city-level indicators, Denise Bax, Head of UNESCO's Communication, Cities and Events Section, said during a discussion titled "UNESCO Creative Cities Network and Sustainable Urban Development" held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Report informs.
According to her, culture is an integral part of all processes:
"As UNESCO, we are always ready to provide our support in the field of building innovative housing models, supporting communities and local economies. We also carry out exchanges of ideas regarding successful experiences and ideas of cities, and we will continue to do so."
