One of the cultural heritage items appropriated by Armenians is Azerbaijan's national cuisine, Givami Rahimli, the project manager, associate professor at Baku State University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, told journalists, Report informs.
He made the remark at the presentation of the English edition of the book Cuisine of the Iravan Khanate.
According to Rahimli, this book was published in Azerbaijani in 2020:
"Of course, there is the word 'cuisine' here, but the book is not only about the cuisine of the Iravan Khanate. It is also an encyclopedic book about the material and cultural heritage of our ancient homeland. Along with the cuisine of that region, the book contains historical facts and documents. Among them are the Sardar Palace in Iravan, the decree signed by Nicholas II regarding the restoration of the Sardar Palace, and many other historical documents."
The project manager emphasized that all these show that the Iravan Khanate is an ancient Azerbaijani homeland:
"If you remember, the head of state, Ilham Aliyev, has repeatedly stated that 'Iravan is our ancestral homeland. We will return to those lands.' This right of return is also reflected in documents published within the framework of the United Nations Security Council and the General Assembly. We want this issue to be resolved within the framework of international legal norms."
