Baku and Sofia discuss joint research on underwater archaeological heritage

Azerbaijan and Bulgaria discussed the possibility of conducting joint expeditions to study underwater archaeological heritage.

According to Report, this issue was addressed during a meeting between Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, who is on a visit to Barcelona, and Marian Bachev, Minister of Culture of Bulgaria, within the framework of the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policy and Sustainable Development.

Karimli provided information on the conditions recently created in Azerbaijan for foreign filmmakers, including the Rebate program.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on film production, intangible cultural heritage, and joint expeditions to explore underwater archaeological sites.

It was also decided to continue discussions on these issues at the next UNESCO General Conference, scheduled to be held in November this year in Samarkand.
