An Azerbaijani literature corner has opened at the city library in Arkadag, Turkmenistan.
Report's correspondent dispatched to Turkmenistan informs that representatives of the culture ministries of both countries, literary and public figures, and media representatives attended the ceremony.
Speaking to journalists before the opening, Professor Karim Tahirov, director of the Azerbaijan National Library, said Azerbaijani literature corners have already been established in 19 cities around the world.
He emphasized that the creation of the corner is important in terms of expanding literary and cultural ties between the two countries.
According to the director, such projects contribute to the development of cultural dialogue between peoples and allow readers to become more closely acquainted with works by Azerbaijani authors:
"The Azerbaijani literature corner established in Turkmenistan's Arkadag city will also serve to further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two brotherly peoples. This initiative will create new opportunities for expanding book exchanges, joint publishing projects and other areas of literary and cultural cooperation in the future."
Later, guests were given detailed information about the publications presented.
