Azerbaijan's zorkhana sport included in UNESCO's Intangible Heritage List

Wrestling, traditional zorkhana games and sports are included in the representative list of UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Report informs that the nomination put forward at the initiative of Azerbaijan was accepted at the Seventeenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

"This culture refers to variety of traditional physical performances practiced and transmitted from generation to generation by athletes," the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO tweeted.
