Adil Karimli: Azerbaijan always respected legacy of First Turkological Congress

The Azerbaijani state has always respected the legacy of the First Turkological Congress, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli said at the opening ceremony of the Turkic World Week in Baku, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, Report informs.

"Today's forum is a manifestation of Azerbaijan's commitment to these values. We believe that it will pave the way for new ideas and promote cooperation among Turkic peoples," Karimli added.

He noted that in 1926, prominent intellectuals and scholars gathered around the same table in Baku with great hopes for the future. "Today, our answer is clear: this idea has not only survived, it has grown, strengthened, and for the first time united such a broad geography and such diverse voices around shared spiritual values," the minister added.

Karimli also announced that events within the framework of the Turkic World Week will be held not only in Baku, but also in Shusha, Khankandi, and Aghdam.
