Deputy Minister: Digital forecast models to enable climate action

Digital forecasting models will help the government take optimal measures in the fight against climate change and during the transition to a green economy, Vugar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, stated during the second day of Baku Climate Action Week 2025 (BCAW2025), Report informs.

Karimov noted that Azerbaijan's national priorities by 2030 include transitioning to a green economy, supported by digital solutions: "Azerbaijan has also launched a green digital initiative within the framework of COP29. Digital technologies ensure efficient data collection and rapid access to climate-related information. These solutions also improve the use of renewable energy sources."

The deputy minister added that implementing early warning systems for natural disasters is aimed at minimizing potential damage.

Karimov emphasized the importance of digital forecasting in achieving these goals.
