Climate financing must remain a central focus in the fight against climate change, said Ecuador's Foreign Minister María Fernanda Espinosa during Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.
"If we want an effective response to climate change, financing must be strong," she stated. "We need financial adaptation that matches the scale of the crisis. This is not the responsibility of one country-it's a shared duty."
Espinosa emphasized that many developed economies participating in the event are well-positioned to support this effort with their advanced technologies:
"These countries can contribute meaningfully. And of course, the private sector must not stay on the sidelines either."
