Climate action urgency undeniable, says IPCC Chair Jim Skea

The achievements of the Baku Climate Week could lay the foundation for a successful COP29 in Azerbaijan this November, according to Jim Skea, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), according to Report.
In a video address to participants of the Baku Climate Week on Monday, Skea emphasized that the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will make Azerbaijan the center of international climate diplomacy.
"The urgency and importance of the upcoming COP cannot be overstated, he said, adding that to understand this, one need only look at recent news headlines reporting record temperatures, record heat, and record floods.
