Vugar Bayramov: Non-oil sector key in Azerbaijan–Türkiye ties

Cooperation in non-oil exports is crucial in Azerbaijan's relations with Türkiye, as the country is Azerbaijan's second-largest partner in this sector with an 11.6% share, Azerbaijani MP Vugar Bayramov stated during today's parliamentary plenary session, Report informs.

Bayramov said that economic and strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are deepening: "In 2025, trade turnover between the two countries reached $5.72 billion. At the same time, Azerbaijan recorded a positive balance of $1.034 billion, showing that Azerbaijan exports more products to brotherly Türkiye."

Bayramov added that Türkiye accounted for 13.5% of Azerbaijan's total exports, and 16.5% of its non-oil exports in 2025.

He emphasized that relations are not limited to trade turnover but also include investments and joint programs: "So far, Azerbaijan has invested $20 billion in Türkiye's economy, while Türkiye has invested nearly $18 billion in Azerbaijan. These investments contribute to economic development and job creation in both countries."
