Uzbekistan proposes roadmap for deeper trade ties with Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed the development of a roadmap for joint actions aimed at the practical implementation of initiatives to expand trade turnover and industrial cooperation with Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the press service of the president.

Mirziyoyev made the proposal on Friday during a high-level trilateral meeting in Turkmenistan with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The plan also includes launching a mechanism for regular meetings between ministers in key sectors.

Mirziyoyev noted that in recent years, Uzbekistan's mutual trade with Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has doubled, and the share of industrial products in the trade structure has reached 40%.

As part of a comprehensive plan, he proposed developing stable trade and logistics chains, establishing wholesale distribution centers, ensuring access to major retail networks, unifying phytosanitary and quarantine standards, introducing digital product labeling, launching joint e-commerce platforms, and expanding cooperation among commodity exchanges.
