UNDP: Women earn half as much as men in Azerbaijan

Women working in Azerbaijan are paid an average of 361 manats per month. This figure is almost twice as high for men - 670 manats, said UNDP official Aygun Ahmadova, Report informs.
"The level of women's participation in the labor force in the country is also 6.6% lower than that of men. 5.9% of women are unemployed, compared to 4.1% for men. Women occupy only 17.6% of parliamentary seats and 23% of senior and middle management positions in the civil service. 21.5% of entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan are women," she added.
