Turkiye sharply increases export of sunflower oil to Azerbaijan

In January-May 2022, Azerbaijan bought 17,399 tons (-32.7%) of sunflower oil worth $26,704 million (-19.8%) from abroad, Report informs, citing the data of the State Statistics Committee.

during the reporting period, 17,042 tons (-33.2%) of products worth $25,959 million (-20.6%) were imported from Russia, 262.7 tons (- 15.7%) worth 566,440 dollars (+3.7%) from Turkiye , 77.15 tons (+32 times) worth $139,840 (+30.2 times) from Ukraine, 13.12 tons (+8.3%) worth $30,990 (+24%) from Italy, and 2.8 tons (+19.1%) worth $6,070 (+38.6%) from Belarus.

As in the previous two months, there was no supply from Ukraine in May. In that month, Azerbaijan imported sunflower oil mainly from Russia and Turkiye. The volume of supply from these countries increased by 3.9% and 65%, respectively, compared to the indicators of the previous four months.

Over the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold abroad 2,543 tons (+5.6%) of sunflower oil worth $4,968 million (-19.6%).

Of this, 1,407 tons (-26.6%) worth $2,739 million (-2.1%) were exported to Iraq, 1,035 tons (-12.7%) worth $2,061 million (+11.2%) to Georgia, 100.46 tons worth $167,250 to Turkmenistan (there was no supply a year ago), 0.55 tons worth $1,050 (there was no supply) to the US.
