Turkic states to establish digital economy platform

A digital economy platform will be created among the Turkic states, said Kursad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party).

According to Report, he made the remark at the 2nd International Conference of Leading National Analytical Centers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku.

"Our target should be digital trade in the Turkic world. This issue was discussed at the recent meeting in Astana. We have signed the Digital Partnership Agreement. The parliaments of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan have ratified it, and the process continues in other countries. Today, 76 percent of the foreign trade of three million companies in Türkiye is conducted manually. However, in order to access large markets, we can join this digital platform and deliver our goods and services both to our own markets and to global markets. In this direction, a digital platform called Farabi Network has been established in Türkiye," Zorlu said.

The official also stressed that global instability makes regional cooperation inevitable: "The world is facing global crises and chaos. Geopolitical risks are increasing. In such a period, it has become a strategic security issue for every country to ensure development in agriculture, prioritize food security, create secure logistics, contribute to global supply chains, strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence with our own national doctrine, and move forward in the defense industry by relying on internal resources and creating distinctions worldwide. These factors make regional cooperation mandatory."
