By establishing production in Azerbaijan, Turkish companies can gain access to the markets of ten countries with which free trade agreements are in place, and entrepreneurs from Türkiye are currently exploring new investment opportunities in the republic, Azerbaijan's Trade Representative in Türkiye Tamerlan Tagiyev told Report.
According to him, one of the main tasks of the representative office is to attract Turkish entrepreneurs to set up businesses and production facilities in Azerbaijan.
"We have already brought numerous delegations to Azerbaijan. Some came on our initiative, while others arrived at the invitation of other entities. This work continues uninterrupted, and the private sector plays an important role in strengthening the trade and economic relations between the two countries," he said on the sidelines of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku.
Tagiyev emphasized that Turkish companies already operating in Azerbaijan are expanding their activities, while new enterprises are investing and launching production. The representative office informs entrepreneurs in Türkiye about Azerbaijan's opportunities, state-offered tax and customs exemptions, industrial parks, and the Araz Valley Economic Zone. Special attention is given to the advantages of Karabakh, Eastern Zangazur, and Nakhchivan.
Tagiyev noted that manufacturing in Azerbaijan can help Turkish companies enter larger markets. "Our country has free trade agreements with ten states. Products manufactured in Azerbaijan can be exported to these countries free of customs duties and taxes," he explained.
The trade representative added that a large number of entrepreneurs from Türkiye have attended the AIIF 2026 forum taking place today in Baku. They aim to see the country's opportunities firsthand before making decisions regarding investments or the development of bilateral trade.
