SCC prevents illegal withdrawal of $228,000 from Azerbaijan

The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan foiled an illegal attempt to move $227,900 across the customs border, violating the law, as reflected in the Cabinet of Ministers’ annual activity summary in 2023, Report informs.

The SCC also prevented an attempt to transfer funds, including 7,800 euros (about $8,497) and 7.6 million Russian rubles (about $83,752).

Moreover, the customs officials seized 7,700 pieces of gold jewelry worth 2.303 million manats (about $1.354 million), 1,504 grams of gold, 5,899 pieces of silver jewelry worth 251,800 manats (about $148,117) and 59,500 grams of silver bars, 37.7 carat precious stones worth 59,900 manats (about $35,235), 5 gold watches worth 97,300 manats (about $57,235).
