Omuraliev: Integration of Turkic states encompasses 66 mechanisms

The economic integration of Turkic states encompasses 66 key mechanisms, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, stated at the 2nd International Conference of Leading National Analytical Centers of the OTS in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, the goal of economic integration for Turkic states is clear:

"We must turn our common geography, culture, history, human capital, and economic potential into real factors of competitive advantage. Investments, operational systems, and institutional cooperation cover 66 key mechanisms across diverse fields – from foreign policy and trade to energy, green economy, tourism, digitalization, and even space research. Fifteen years after the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement, the organization has evolved from a framework based on common values into an active platform promoting pragmatic regional cooperation."

Omuraliev added that the economic potential of the Turkic world is significant:

"According to recent reports, the combined GDP of modern Turkic states – both members and observers – amounts to $2.4 trillion annually, with total trade turnover of $1.27 trillion and a population of 180 million. These figures demonstrate the scale of our collective economic potential and remind us of our responsibility to transform it into shared prosperity. Collectively, Turkic states are also global leaders in energy and agriculture. For example, with 19.9 trillion cubic meters of proven natural gas reserves, 38.2 billion barrels of oil reserves, and 42 billion tons of coal reserves, our region is a vital foundation of global energy security."
