There is an alarming trend in Azerbaijan - men register businesses in the name of women, which actually hinders the development of genuine female entrepreneurship, Chairperson of the Association of Small and Medium Business Entities and Clubs Nigar Alasgarova said at the "She Builds Green Conference: Women Entrepreneurs' Contributions to Climate Resilience in Azerbaijan," Report informs.
"We are faced with a situation where men take advantage of benefits and programs specially designed to support women's entrepreneurship. The main goal is to evade taxes and receive additional preferences. The documents contain the names and last names of women, but in fact, they do not participate in business management and do not become real founders," Alasgarova emphasized.
Nigar Alasgarova noted that supporting women entrepreneurs is of strategic importance not only for economic growth, but also for the social development of the country.
"Expansion of support systems for women's entrepreneurship in the regions and the implementation of local projects are critical to achieving gender equality in the business environment," Alasgarova concluded.
