Mikayil Jabbarov: Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan have lots of work ahead

The documents signed following the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum pave the way for the implementation of important joint projects, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, Report informs.

"The forum concluded successfully. A number of documents were signed during the event, creating the conditions for launching important joint projects and expanding bilateral economic cooperation," the minister said.

Speaking about Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Uzbekistan, Jabbarov also emphasized the significance of the signing of the document, which provides for increasing trade turnover between the two countries to $1 billion.

He particularly emphasized the importance of projects related to the activities of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and AzerGold in Uzbekistan.

The minister also noted Uzbekistan's fraternal support in the restoration of Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation. In particular, he recalled the construction of the Mirza Ulugh Beg School, initiated by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

"A great deal of work lies ahead. We will continue to work actively and collaboratively to fulfill the instructions of the heads of state," Mikayil Jabbarov added.
