The German company Mercedes-Benz intends to close an automobile plant in Brazil as the coronavirus pandemic worsens the car market's premium segment, Report informs, referring to Interfax.
The plant, located in Iracemapolis, São Paulo, was commissioned in March 2016. The plant produces C-class and GLA models.
The company said that the work at the plant would be completed this year. The institution employs 370 people.
However, Mercedes-Benz will continue to produce trucks and buses at its factories in São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo) and Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais).
