Manuela Traldi: Format of high-level round table between Azerbaijan and Italy will be expanded - EXCLUSIVE

A high-level round table is planned to be held between Azerbaijan and Italy by the end of the year, President of the Italian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce Manuela Traldi told Report.

"Bilateral relations between our countries are developing dynamically, and we regularly organize meetings on various sectors. The last high-level round table was held in Rome in September 2024 as part of the visit of Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov. We will most likely hold a similar event, but in a larger format," Traldi noted.

According to her, the parties also hold small round tables dedicated to individual sectors and projects, which contributes to the deepening of cooperation.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce emphasized that the current period is particularly favorable for the development of joint ventures:

"We see the prospects that are opening up in Azerbaijan and highly appreciate the support measures introduced by the government in economic zones and other initiatives. Interest in cooperation is also growing in Italy, especially in the field of technology transfer. We are currently actively working on two projects in agriculture, including equipment supplies. In addition, initiatives are developing in the automotive and heavy industry. There are really many opportunities."

According to her, significant potential is also opening up in the food industry, where Italian technologies can be combined with Azerbaijani resources and investments.

"We have been studying these opportunities for a long time, and now all the conditions for their implementation have been created. I cannot disclose the details yet, but in the near future you will see new Italian-Azerbaijani production initiatives," she emphasized.

Speaking about cooperation in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Traldi noted that the region remains one of the priority areas for Italian business.

"We are closely monitoring the process of restoration of the liberated territories and actively informing the international community about the work done by Azerbaijan. Italian companies are already participating in the design and construction of new buildings, museums, mosques. In addition, cooperation is underway within the framework of energy projects, including the restoration of the region's infrastructure," she concluded.
