Czech company MALBI-trans is considering the possibility of creating a joint venture in Azerbaijan, MALBI-trans CEO Liliana Krutonog told Report on the sidelines of the conference "Black Sea-Caspian Logistics Forum 2025: corridors, cargo, infrastructure" in Baku.
Liliana Krutonog recalled that the company recently signed a cooperation agreement with Romanian Carpatica Feroviar as part of the development of the Middle Corridor. The document provides for the launch of new regular services.
"The goal of the agreement is to increase the capacity of the port of Constanta. We intend to develop the existing services of our partners that are already operating on this corridor, and we want to extend the routes to the port of Constanta to transport both our cargo and the cargo of our partners, providing direct communication," said Liliana Krutonog.
According to her, the company has received several proposals to create a joint venture with the Azerbaijani side.
"Now we want to carefully weigh everything, and possibly make a positive decision. This is the first step. The second step is active negotiations with new forum participants: this year there are many new companies and players here. Including several Kazakhstani companies that have expressed interest in cooperation. Overall, our main goal is to maximize the volume of European cargo on the Middle Corridor. This is what we are working on. Being in Europe, we, of course, are engaged in imports from China, but the priority is the export of European products to China, Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries through the Middle Corridor," added the head of MALBI-trans.
