Libya calls for investment in smart cities through PPP mechanisms

Libya is calling on international partners to increase investment in the country, focusing on public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms, the construction of "smart cities," and the development of a sustainable urban environment, Libya's Minister of Housing Issam Al-Tamouni said during a ministerial roundtable at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum 13 in Baku, according to Report.

"We sincerely believe that PPP is a real bridge to prosperous cities. We call on all of you not only to support, but to take advantage of existing opportunities to jointly build smart cities and sustainable communities. Urbanization is not measured by the height of buildings, but by respect for human rights. Therefore, let us ensure that securing fundamental rights and integrity becomes our path, and human dignity our main value. We declare here: Libya is returning to the right path to build its future," the minister emphasized.
