"Relations between Azerbaijan and Israel have consistently developed in 2025. Our cooperation is strengthened by agreements on the promotion and mutual protection of investments, as well as on the avoidance of double taxation, which forms a solid legal basis for expanding business ties. Currently, 130 commercial entities with Israeli capital operate in Azerbaijan. Mutual investment in our economies amounts to approximately $600 million," Jabbarov noted.
According to him, the countries have built a strong partnership across a wide range of areas.
"A striking example is the strategic cooperation agreement signed and being implemented between the Azerbaijan Investment Company and the Israeli side. Under this framework, Azerbaijan is investing in expanding technological and business ties with a focus on energy, healthcare, cybersecurity, industry, and education," Jabbarov said.
He added that the energy sector is one of the key areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel.
"Azerbaijan is not only a supplier but also a significant investor in Israel's energy sector. To date, the Azerbaijani side has received licenses for gas exploration in Israel's exclusive economic zone in partnership with BP and NewMed and is the operator of the exploration phase," the minister noted.
According to him, the pharmaceutical industry is another area in which Israeli companies continue to implement their projects in Azerbaijan.
"Work continues to expand cooperation in water resource management and the use of alternative water sources. At the same time, negotiations are underway to improve water use efficiency in agriculture and implement related production initiatives. Among the companies with which successful cooperation has been established are Mekorot and Paide," he said.
He also noted that the Israeli-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry functions as an effective business platform aimed at developing business ties and investment cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel.
