Int'l cargo traffic by road surges in Azerbaijan by over 8%

More than 2.819 million tons of cargo worth over $5.941 billion were transported in Azerbaijan by road during the first half of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.

The committee's data shows that this is an increase of 8.1 percent in volume and 3.5 percent in value from the corresponding period of 2023.

In January-June 2024, just over 1.084 million tons of cargo, valued at more than $948.3 million were exported from Azerbaijan by road, representing an increase of 8.1 percent in volume and 3.5 percent in value compared to the same period of last year.

Furthermore, just under 1.735 billion tons of cargo worth just over $4.993 billion were imported to Azerbaijan by road in the specified period, showing a rise of 8.2 percent in volume and 3.5 percent in value year-on-year.
