Innovation and technological development in agribusiness discussed at AIIF 2026

A panel session titled "Innovation and Technological Development in Agribusiness" was held in Baku as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026).

According to Report, citing the Ministry of Economy, the event featured Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov, Matteo Vittuari, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences at ADA University, Viorel Gutu, Assistant Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia, Tahir Gozal, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Azersun Holding, and Niyazi Amirbayov, Chief Executive Officer of Agro Dairy LLC.

The participants exchanged views on strengthening food security, increasing productivity, using resources efficiently, and integrating agricultural products into regional and global value chains.

They also discussed the role of the private sector in agribusiness, expanding production and processing capacities, the application of technologies and investment opportunities. The participants exchanged views on prospects for developing competitive production in the agri-food sector, increasing added value and expanding market access.
