The implementation of the Single Window principle will help improve Azerbaijan's position in international trade facilitation rankings, according to Natig Shirinov, the deputy chairman of the State Customs Committee, Report informs.
Shirinov shared these insights during the presentation of the Single Window information system. He noted that the clear proof of the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms is reflected in the results of the UN Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation for 2025.
"This survey, coordinated by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), is conducted every two years and aims to assess countries' efforts to reduce the time and costs of trade operations, digitalize procedures, and increase their sustainability," Shirinov said. "In 2025, the study covered 168 countries globally, evaluating their development across eight key indicators. According to the results, Azerbaijan, with an average score of 94.57%, took 4th place in the global ranking and first place in the region of Southern and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. This marks a significant improvement compared to 2023, when the country held the 9th position with a score of 86.05%."
According to the deputy chairman, this assessment not only allows for determining the level of development of trade procedures but also helps identify existing shortcomings to formulate a more effective state policy in this area.
