Flour will be imported to Georgia by rail through Azerbaijan, Director of the Georgian Bakery Producers Association Malkhaz Dolidze said at a press conference, Georgian bureau of Report informs.
He noted that there will be no delays in deliveries, and no shortage of flour is expected in the domestic market: “The mills are provided with wheat, and there is a two-month reserve. Flour will be delivered by trains from Azerbaijan. Therefore, there will be no problems with grain supply.”
Despite that flour prices have increased, bread prices are not expected to rise, he added.
The main supplier of flour to Georgia is Russia, which accounts for about 90% of imports.
