Deputy minister: Azerbaijan prioritizes technological transformation in economic agenda

Technological transformation is one of the key priorities on Azerbaijan's economic development agenda.

Report informs that First Deputy Economy Minister Elnur Aliyev said this at a meeting with executives of enterprises participating in the "Support for the Development of the Digital Economy" program, implemented as part of the Digital Economy Development Strategy for 2026-2029.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Economy, emphasized that the country's digital economy strategy is aimed at accelerating transformation at the business, government and society levels, expanding the use of innovations and increasing the competitiveness of the economy.

It was noted that the incentive and support mechanisms established by the state are designed to accelerate the private sector's transition to digital technologies and strengthen enterprises" positions in global value chains.

The meeting also noted that, as part of the program, production and business processes of enterprises operating in retail trade, the food industry, construction, metallurgy and industrial production had been analyzed. More than 400 potential digital transformation initiatives and over 160 sustainability practices were assessed. Individual roadmaps were prepared for each enterprise.
