CEO describes potential of Azerbaijan - Turkey- Georgia co-op through Hualing Kutaisi Free Industrial Zone as 'immense'

The potential of intense cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia through Hualing Kutaisi Free Industrial Zone is immense, executive director of Hualing Kutaisi Free Industrial Zone Soso Nibladze told Report.

“Since Georgia is between Azerbaijan and Turkey, a lot of companies already use this free zone for having manufacturing units, warehouses inside it and to store and then distribute or manufacture and then sell the products to each other,” he said, adding that this is a nice distribution, logistics and manufacturing hub for Azerbaijani and Turkish businessmen.

He noted that the free zone function is just to help: to give the platform to the businessmen to enable more trade through cost-effective measures. More practically, companies registered in the free zones can use the territory to process manufacture products, export to countries without tax.

“For example: Turkish companies working and sending goods to Azerbaijan can expand the production in the free zone and this way they will cut down their operational expenditures, because of taxes, law cost and then manufactured goods will be sold to Azerbaijan or any other country,” he concluded.
