Azerbaijan's Export and Investment Promotion Agency, AZPROMO, and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of cooperation on Wednesday.
Report is citing the press service of Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics as saying that the document was signed during the Azerbaijan-Latvia business forum held in Baku.
The forum's role as an effective platform for building new partnerships and promoting concrete joint projects was highlighted during the event.
Rinkevics said Latvia was interested in stepping up cooperation with Azerbaijan in agriculture and strengthening exchanges of experience in agricultural education, including in the use of drones and other innovative technologies in farming.
According to the statement, Rinkevics said in talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev earlier on Wednesday that the business forum would contribute to future cooperation between entrepreneurs from the two countries.
He said the two countries had cooperation potential in information and communication technologies, agriculture, transport and logistics, forestry, pharmaceuticals and green technologies.
Rinkevics added that Latvia was also interested in strengthening trade ties and could become an important hub supporting Azerbaijani exports to the European Union, particularly Northern European markets.
