Azerbaijan starts tobacco exports to Vietnam

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 6,937 tons of tobacco worth $22.4 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 2.4 times and 3.3 times, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold tobacco to:

- The United Arab Emirates (UAE): 1,164 tons worth $5.7 million;

- Italy: 1,387 tons (+12 times) worth $4.3 million (+13 times);

- Bulgaria: 1,346 tons (+3.5 times) worth $4 million (+4 times);

- Greece: 814 tons (+3 times) worth $2.4 million (+3 times);

- Russia: 907 tons (-44%) worth $1.8 million (-36%);

In 2024, Azerbaijan supplied tobacco to Vietnam (33 tons worth $89,000) and the UAE for the first time in 13 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
