Azerbaijan starts avocado imports from Syria

Azerbaijan imported 386.3 tons of avocados, fresh or dried, worth $1.1 million in January-April 2026.
Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee, that this is 3% more in value and 7% more in volume than in the same period of 2025.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 226 tons of avocados worth $748,000 from Peru (+55% in value, +56% in volume), 82 tons worth $174,000 from Israel (+2 times, +3 times), 21 tons worth $67,600 from Lebanon (+0.2%, +14%), 22.5 tons worth $67,400 from Kenya (+7 times in both value and volume), and 23.8 tons worth $36,000 from Türkiye (-56% in both value and volume).
This year, Azerbaijan imported avocados from Syria for the first time in the past 16 years, with 4 tons worth $6,000 supplied from the country.
