Azerbaijan's trade turnover with EU countries rises by 14%

In January-July of 2025, the value of Azerbaijan's trade turnover with European Union (EU) member states exceeded $12.404 billion, marking a 14% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

Over the past year, Azerbaijan's exports to EU countries rose by 14.7%, totaling just over $10.715 billion, while imports from the bloc increased by 9.7%, amounting to approximately $1.689 billion.

During the seven-month period, EU countries accounted for 70.4% of Azerbaijan"s total exports and 12.4% of its imports.

In terms of individual partners, Azerbaijan's largest trade volumes were recorded with Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Spain:

Italy: Bilateral trade surpassed $7.498 billion, including just over $7.195 billion in exports and $303.3 million in imports. Compared to last year, total trade grew by 20.6%, exports by 21.5%, and imports by 2.8%.

Germany: Trade turnover stood at $888.6 million, with $376.4 million in exports and $512.2 million in imports. Over the year, total trade rose by 4.7%, imports by 9.7%, while exports declined by 1.3%.

Czech Republic: Trade amounted to $593.2 million, including $548.3 million in exports and $44.9 million in imports. Compared to the previous year, total trade increased by 6.2%, exports fell by 8.3%, and imports surged by 29.4%.

Greece: Bilateral trade totaled $436.2 million, with $410 million in exports and $26.2 million in imports. Over the year, trade grew by 1.2%, exports rose by 11.4%, while imports dropped by 30.2%.

Spain: Trade turnover reached $148.3 million, including $6.1 million in exports and $142.2 million in imports. Compared to last year, total trade rose by 23.5%, exports plummeted 18.7-fold, and imports increased by 77.8%.
