Azerbaijan's meat imports top $66.1M in January-July 2026

Azerbaijan imported 28,000 tons of meat worth $66.1 million in January-July 2026, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

This represents an increase of 2,900 tons (11.3%) in volume and $11 million (19.9%) in value compared to the same period of last year, according to the committee.

During the reporting period, meat import expenditures accounted for 0.6% of Azerbaijan's total import costs.

Over the seven-month period, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover reached $29.216 billion, representing a 1.3% increase year-on-year.

Exports accounted for $19.336 billion of the total turnover, while imports stood at $9.881 billion. Over the past year, exports grew by 27%, while imports declined by 27.4%. Consequently, foreign trade generated a positive surplus of $9.455 billion, marking a 5.9-fold increase.
