Azerbaijan's earnings from methanol exports grow by over 14%

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan exported 367,096 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol) worth $75,302,460, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, compared to the same period last year, the export value increased by 14.6%, while the volume increased by 6.8%.
In September, the country exported 44,834 tons of methyl alcohol worth $10,271,640, which is 50.3% more in value and 8.2% less in volume year-on-year.
In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan exported main non-oil products worth $2.081 billion. This is 4.2% less compared to the same period in 2023. Methanol accounts for 3.62% of Azerbaijan's main non-oil product exports.
In the first 9 months of this year, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations worth $34.498 billion with other countries. Of the foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $19.855 billion, while imports were $14.643 billion. Over the past year, exports decreased by 25%, while imports increased by 16%.
