Azerbaijan's beef imports rise 40% in first four months

Azerbaijan imported 4,412 tonnes of fresh, chilled, and frozen beef worth $17.4 million during the first four months of this year.

According to calculations by Report based on data from the State Statistical Committee, the value of beef imports increased by 40% year-on-year, while import volumes rose by 39%.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 2,158 tonnes of beef worth $10.8 million from Ukraine, up 74% in value and 45% in volume compared with the same period last year. Imports from Brazil totaled 1,491 tonnes worth $3.5 million, up 33% in value and 78% in volume.

The country also imported 340 tonnes worth $1.6 million from Belarus, 319 tonnes worth $1.1 million from India, and 72 tonnes worth $231,000 from Russia.

Overall, Ukraine accounted for 53% of Azerbaijan's total beef imports of 13,150 tonnes in 2025, while Brazil's share stood at 26.4%.
