Azerbaijan records 4.3% growth in clothing and footwear sales

Azerbaijan's retail network sold 5.6138 billion manats ($3.30 billion) worth of textile products, clothing and footwear to consumers in January-August 2026.

According to Report, citing the State Statistical Committee, the figure was 4.3% higher than in the first eight months of 2025.

Textile products, clothing and footwear accounted for 12.7% of consumers' total spending on goods purchased for final consumption during the period.

Overall, Azerbaijan's retail network sold 44.3 billion manats ($26.06 billion) worth of goods in January-August, including 24.1 billion manats ($14.18 billion) worth of food products, beverages and tobacco products and 20.2 billion manats ($11.88 billion) worth of non-food goods.

Compared with January-August 2025, retail trade turnover increased by 3.9% in real terms. Sales of food products, beverages and tobacco rose by 1.4%, while non-food sales increased by 6.9%.
