Azerbaijan quintuples seed potato imports from Georgia

In the first half of this year, 10,286 tons of seed potatoes (+98.4%) worth $4.2 million (+99%) were brought to Azerbaijan from abroad, Report informs, citing State Statistics Committee.

In the reporting period, 5,697 tons (+5 times) worth $1.9 million (+4.9 times) were purchased from Georgia, 970.8 tons (+3.2 times) worth $955,000 (+3 times) from Germany, 1,561 tons worth $515,000 from Ukraine (a there was no supply a year ago), 1,149 tons (-43%) worth $380,000 (-43.1%) from Russia, and 231.35 tons (+21%) worth $229,000 (+28%) from the Netherlands.

Last year, 82% of the 32,100 tons of seed potatoes imported by Azerbaijan (from 8 countries) fell to the share of Russia.
