Azerbaijan posts over 9% surge in int'l cargo traffic by road

In total, 5.38 million tons of cargo worth just over $11.367 billion were transported in Azerbaijan by road in the first 11 months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.

The committee's data shows that this is an increase of 9.2 percent in volume and 3.3 percent in value compared to the corresponding period of 2023.

In January-November 2024, approximately 2.117 million tons of cargo, valued at just over $1.91 billion were exported from Azerbaijan by road, representing an increase of 15.2 percent in volume and 16.3 percent in value year-on-year.

At the same time, more than 3.264 million tons of cargo worth over $9.456 billion were imported to Azerbaijan by road in the specified period, showing a rise of 5.6 percent in volume and 1.1 percent in value year-on-year.
