Azerbaijan posts 32% growth in trade turnover with Central Asian countries

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with the Central Asian countries in January-June 2023 amounted to $802,444,000, up 31.9% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
In the reporting period, export operations increased by 2.4 times to 146,690,000, and import operations went up by 1.3 times to $655,754,000.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan carried out trade and import operations among Central Asian countries mostly with Turkmenistan, and export operations with Kazakhstan. The lowest indicator in both export and import operations was recorded with Tajikistan.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan stood at $485,464,000, with export operations accounting for $46,425,000, and import operations for $439,039,000. Compared to the same period last year, trade turnover and import operations increased by 3.8 times, and exports by 4.2 times.
During the six months of 2023, the trade turnover with Kazakhstan amounted to $218,150,000 (-1.4 times). Exports increased by 2.5 times to $60,180,000, while imports dropped 1.9 times to $157,970,000.
The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan trade turnover made up $80,007,000 (-1.09 times), with export operations amounting to $23,458,000 (+1.05 times) and import operations making up $56,549,000 (-1.01 times).
The trade circulation with Kyrgyzstan quadrupled to $17,038,000. Export operations surged 15.7 times to $14,882,000, and import operations declined by 1.5 times to $2,156,000.
The trade transactions between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in the reporting period stood at $1,785,000 (-1.4 times), with export operations accounting for $1,745,000 (-1.4 times) and import operations amounting to $40,000 (+1.4 times).
