Azerbaijan may increase exports of non-oil products to Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan wants to buy nitrogen fertilizers, polyethylene, sugar, and livestock products from Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Farhodjon Toshpulatov, said at the Azerbaijani-Uzbek business forum in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, this issue was discussed at a meeting of the country's officials with representatives of the Agency for Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy, as well as Azersun Holding LLC.

Toshpulatov added that today's event would play an important role in bilateral relations: "There is friendship and cooperation between our countries that serve mutual interests. President Ilham Aliyev is currently on a visit to Uzbekistan, again showing the high level of relations between the two countries. In recent years, our ties have reached the level of strategic partnership. No area is left out of this partnership. In this regard, trade and economic relations play a crucial role in other areas. Today we see an imbalance between exports and imports of the two countries. We will spare no effort to eliminate the imbalance. Uzbekistan mainly exports textiles, machinery, and food products to Azerbaijan. Currently, exporters of these products are participating in the business forum. Crude oil, oil products, and aluminium are exported from Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan."
