Azerbaijan has been invited to take part in international trade and food industry exhibitions to be held in Tajikistan in June and August this year.
Report informs, citing the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), that AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev met with Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Farkhodshokh Rakhmonalizoda as part of the Azerbaijan-Tajikistan business forum.
The meeting discussed strengthening direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, increasing mutual trade, as well as the planned Azerbaijan-Tajikistan Business Council. It was noted that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan is showing positive dynamics, creating additional opportunities to further diversify economic cooperation.
In this context, the export potential of Azerbaijani products, including halal products, to Tajikistan and through Tajikistan to third-country markets was highly assessed.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on organizing exhibitions and joint participation in events in the coming period. The sides considered the possibility of organizing a joint exhibition as part of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission to be held in Tajikistan.
On May 21, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Business Council was signed between AZPROMO and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan as part of the 8th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, held in Baku.
The purpose of establishing the council is to develop mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation, investment, exports and e-commerce in various areas between Azerbaijani and Tajik business entities.
